Between DJing at a radio station, redesigning and building a new multimedia website, reading at the local NPR affiliate’s radio reading service, and going to school full time, I’ve been keeping busy.

I’m running a bit behind on the comic pull list, but I’m hoping to catch up this week. I still have about another 8 to read before picking up my pull Wednesday, which should have another 9. Speaking of which, February is doing much better than January as far as quality goes. Maybe the comic industry had a bit too much to drink during the holiday season.

Anyway, I’m trying to keep the momentum going, so I’m brainstorming plans for the not so distant future. I have a goal to start a web comic by September. That gives me almost 8 months. I won’t force it, but I think it’s a feasible goal that won’t compromise the quality of the comic. While I can’t give out any details, I’m thinking about going with a strip style. Mostly 3-4 panels an “issue,” but sometimes going as far as 8 or so. There won’t be a huge emphasis on a main story line, but if something comes up I’ll go with it. It won’t be realistic. Instead, it’ll have a bit of a cartoony approach.

I think I’ll be doing all the art. I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler, but I think if I apply myself and practice I can obtain comic strip quality drawing skills. I also like the idea of having control over everything and not having anything lost through an artist.

Now to see about going to the upcoming Of Montreal and Band of Horses concerts.
