Let's Debrief

Been a while since I’ve used this thing for something other than a dumping ground for piped-down crap. Four and a half months done with the year already. Let’s take a look at where things are at.

The Comic & Writing

About to finish 64 pages worth of a story-arc; probably the most important in the book. Unfortunately that doesn’t include the ending, which is still about as much of a mystery to me as unhooking the back of a lady’s bra. Probably about 60% done with scripts. The 289 “word” pages translate to 233 comic pages at the time of writing this. I’m in way over my head, but I’m sure it’ll be great. Probably.

The co-writer has just informed me of a project he’s working on that involves motion pictures that he’d like my help on, which comes with perfect timing as I had just been thinking about how I should get another story to gouge my eyes out with when I need a break from banging my head against the wall with the comic.

End of Winter and Beginning of Spring

I could probably sum up the past 4 months with aquariums.

The Lady Duff and I got a membership to the Shedd here in Chicago at the end of January. Since then, we’ve been back twice; the last time with Mama Duff who just visited a couple of weeks ago.

Visited two other aquariums, as well. Spent a week in California in March visiting an old friend. We hit up the Computer History Museum, Alcatraz, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and The Academy of Sciences (which has an aquarium and a voluptuously large planetarium).

Later, the Lady Duff and I engorged in Chicago’s BaconFest.

Beer

After a successul raspberry cream ale home brew in January, I’ve started on a grapefruit honey ale. I’m switching to a one gallon batch for this one (and most likely from here on out) in favor of being able to make different types more frequently, using grains without hating myself, and saving time.

Today, I decompress. And write.

On my way to San Francisco, marking the first time I’ll set land on California soil.

Sad to be leaving the Duffgirl and my keyboard behind, but hopefully being miles away from the soul-sucking routine of clocking in and out will help finally figure out how my story ends.

Time to dust off the moleskin and get to day dreaming.
