Things have been quiet here as of late, but for good reason. Remember that digital art studio I threatened? Well, here it is.

Got a Wacom Cintiq 21UX along with the latest i7 MacBook Pro. Also got a proper drafting chair, which pulls everything together, along with the finer details like a Tardis USB hub, Bose speakers, and external HD running TimeMachine.

Consider the image on my Wacom screen an exclusive preview of my upcoming comic (which is copyrighted all the way to hell).

After being occupied with Zeldathon ‘10 and being in Sarasota, I was finally able to pick up this monstrous pile that was waiting for me at the shop. It’s hard not to blow off drawing and jump right in, but I’ll leave them for the late evening.

Stage of the Ringo Starr concert I was at last night. I would have snagged a photo of him, but the security was more annoying than a Tuesday after a Monday holiday. Anyway, I’d write a review of the concert, but critiquing a Beatle just feels silly to me.

The names are escaping me, but some of the All-Starr band members this time consisted of the lead singers of the McCoys and the Romantics. Edgar Winter was there, like always.

The First Day Of The Rest Of My Life

Provided I was able to keep my stupidity at bay this (half) semester, I took what should be my last final today. I’ve dreamed of this day since my mom first walked me into my kindergarden classroom, where I was eventually seated in the back corner of the classroom with one of my (still) best friends because we already knew all the curriculum for that school year. Although I would not retain a mastery over all the material I would later encounter during my academic career, it always felt like it was getting in the way, keeping me in a corner and preventing me from focusing on finding out what I’m good at. I learned a lot, but now I’m ready to hunker down in the Duffcave and work on things that I choose to.

Today has lived up to the hype.

Immediate plans are to enjoy the rest of the summer, go on a couple of trips, keep a patient eye out for job openings, and work full-time on my web comic, which is tentatively scheduled for a late August/early September launch.

I’ve had a lot of support from people close friends expecting great things from me in the coming years and I hope I don’t disappoint.

It’s finally time to do what I was born to do: create.

The Offside Rules: Photo of the Day (If Not Year)

The World Cup is a tradition for me. I have vivid memories of the 1998 World Cup, where Brazil lost to France (in France) 0-3. I was 10.

Last cup I mentioned how I wished I’d be unemployed by the time the 2010 World Cup came around so I could focus on watching more of it. With my last classes ending this upcoming week, it looks like my wishes are coming to fruition.

So here’s to the 2010 World Cup and hoping Team USA can finish pulling their heads out of their asses and make it into the second round.
